A face you can still see

Sometimes a photograph says what words cannot. This stainless steel photo frame cremation urn holds the ashes of someone you love alongside their image, so what you keep is not just a memorial object but a recognizable presence. That distinction matters.

Handcrafted in the Netherlands with a 10-year guarantee

Each urn is made by hand in the Netherlands by specialist craftspeople using grade 316 stainless steel. This is not standard steel. The 316 alloy combines iron, chromium, nickel and carbon to produce exceptional strength and outstanding resistance to corrosion. A brushed finish across the surface catches light at different angles, giving the urn a considered sheen. Every urn carries a 10-year guarantee.

More than a place to keep the ashes

The photo frame is the center of this urn. You choose which moment, which face, which year appears on the front. The bond you shared with the person you are remembering takes on a visible, unhidden place in your home. There is also a space for a small tealight candle, so the urn can become a quiet focal point rather than simply an object on a shelf.

Laser engraving: your photograph transferred to steel

Photo engraving is available as an option on this urn for ashes. The process is computer-guided, using a concentrated beam of light to transfer your image to the steel surface with fine precision. You can choose between a grayscale or color rendering. The sharper the resolution of your original file, the crisper the result. When ordering, you upload your image directly and indicate your preference at that point.

Custom design: your own layout is possible

If you want something beyond a standard photo format, a fully custom design can be developed with you. Send a sketch, a photograph or a reference, and a design will be drawn up alongside a no-obligation quote. The urn becomes entirely yours, and entirely theirs.

Practical details worth knowing

This cremation urn is designed for indoor use. Everything needed to fill and seal the urn is included: an ash bag, a funnel and high-tensile double-sided sealing tape. The seal is fully airtight. Because the 316 stainless steel is robust and the closure is secure, the ashes can be placed directly into the urn without the bag if you prefer. That said, if you think you may want to move or transfer the ashes at a later date, using the ash bag makes that simpler.

Filling the urn: a step-by-step guide

The process is straightforward, and the instructions below take you through it clearly. If you would rather not fill the urn yourself, the crematorium or funeral director can do this for you, and our own technicians can assist if the urn ever needs to be reopened.

  • Place the ash bag into the urn, leaving part of the opening folded outward to act as a guide. If you are not using a bag, skip to the funnel step.
  • Pour the ashes in using the folded bag edge or the included funnel to avoid spillage.
  • If using the bag, seal it with the included cable tie and tuck it fully into the urn opening.
  • Ensure the inner seating rim is completely free of dust, grease and moisture. Use the cloth provided.
  • Remove the protective film from the lid and position it carefully over the opening.
  • Press the lid down in one steady movement until it sits flush with the surface. A correctly closed lid will not protrude above the urn body.

Delivery, returns and guarantee

Because each urn is handmade to order in the Netherlands, the lead time is four to six weeks. In practice the urn is often ready sooner, but that timeframe is quoted to avoid disappointment. If you need to know the current lead time, you are welcome to ask via chat or by emailing the customer service team. All memorial products come with a 30-day return period, giving you time to consider your choice without pressure. The guarantee on this stainless steel cremation urn is 10 years.

Questions we are often asked

Can the ashes go directly into the urn, or must I use the ash bag?
Both are fine. The 316 stainless steel construction is robust and the closure is fully airtight, so placing the ashes directly into the urn is perfectly safe. If you might want to move the ashes in future, the bag makes that easier.

Can I commission a completely custom design?
Yes. Send a sketch, a photograph or an example of what you have in mind. A design will be prepared and a quote issued for your approval before anything is produced.

Take your time looking through the options. If you have questions about the photo engraving, the design process or anything else, we are happy to talk it through with you at whatever pace suits.
