A technical drawing comes first, followed by a plaster model that becomes the master for the casting mold. The individual urns are poured into that mold and left to dry thoroughly before the surface is smoothed and the piece is fired at 900°C. The glaze is then applied, and the urn goes through a second firing at 1,050°C. These two firings are not an optional refinement; they are a structural necessity. The first firing consolidates the ceramic body, the second bonds the glaze to the surface at depth. The result is a piece that holds its form and its finish.
