Bronze sheet is cut, bent and welded into the finished star form, a process that demands both precision and patience, and you can see that care in every piece. Patina: color applied by hand

The color comes from patina, an oxide layer applied to the bronze by hand. Because this is done individually for each piece, no two urns are identical. You can choose between green and brown, and each gives the urn a distinct character.

Bronze outdoors and in: what you need to know

This funeral urn is suitable for both indoor and outdoor placement. Bronze itself does not deteriorate and requires no basic maintenance, but the patina layer does need some attention over time, and what that involves depends on the color you choose.

Caring for green patina

Green patina can be cleaned with a soft cloth, water and a mild soap solution. Avoid scrubbing, as the layer is delicate. Over the years the green will gradually even out and settle into a softer, more uniform tone.

Caring for brown patina

Brown patina is finished with a light wax coating that halts the oxidation process and prevents the bronze from gradually turning green. Indoors, keeping the surface free of dust is sufficient. Outdoors, the wax layer needs refreshing at least once every two years, depending on the location and weather conditions. This involves applying beeswax, allowing it to absorb, then buffing it off. It is a straightforward process, and the results keep the urn looking as it should.

Filling and sealing the urn

Everything you need to fill and seal the urn is included. The seal uses a double-sided adhesive tape with a high bond strength, designed to hold securely under tension. The urn is suitable for use with or without an ash bag. A step-by-step guide is provided, and if you would prefer not to fill the urn yourself, your funeral director or crematorium can do this for you. Should the urn ever need to be reopened, our technicians can assist with that as well.

A design as personal as the memory

The star has carried meaning for a long time: light in darkness, a fixed point, something visible even when everything else has faded.
