A face you will always know
Sometimes keeping ashes is not quite enough. You want to see the face too, the expression, the photograph that says what words cannot. This ceramic keepsake urn holds a symbolic amount of ashes alongside a small photo frame, so the person you are remembering remains visibly present.
Hand-modeled from high-quality clay
Each piece in this series is hand-modeled by a ceramicist with more than 40 years of experience working with clay. That depth of practice shows. The forms are shaped by hand, then fired with a liquid bronze coating that bonds to the ceramic surface during the kiln process. Because the bronze is applied in liquid form before firing, it settles differently on every piece. The color gradation, the surface texture, the way the light catches the finish: none of it is identical from one urn to the next.
- Hand-modeled from high-quality clay by a single experienced ceramicist
- Liquid bronze coating bonded to the ceramic surface during firing
- Each piece carries a slightly different color gradation and surface character
- Contemporary form that reads as an art object rather than a conventional urn
The result sits comfortably in a home interior. The design does not announce what it is. It simply holds its place.
There is only one of this piece
From modeling to firing, each ceramic keepsake urn takes around four weeks to complete. That time is present in the object you receive. No two pieces come out of the kiln the same, because the hand-modeling and the liquid bronze process make that impossible. You are not choosing from a catalog of identical products. You are receiving something made once, singular, much like the bond you shared with the person you are remembering.
The photo frame as a second point of presence
This urn for ashes is designed around two ways of keeping someone close. The ashes, held quietly inside. The photograph, placed in the small frame set into the piece, visible whenever you glance across the room. Neither element competes with the other. Together they make this object a place to pause beside, rather than simply a container to place on a shelf.
Practical considerations for indoor use
This is an indoor keepsake urn. Ceramic is a stable and durable material, but it is not suited to prolonged exposure to moisture or frost, so it should be kept in a dry, settled spot away from direct heat sources. The bronze finish is part of the firing process and adheres firmly to the ceramic, but the surface benefits from gentle handling. Avoid abrasive or chemical cleaners; a soft, dry cloth is all that is needed.
Personalization options
Text engraving is available for this urn. A name, a date, a short phrase that captures something of who they were. Adding that detail turns the piece from a memorial object into a personal statement about the person you are missing. Engraving can be discussed when you order, and we are happy to help you think through the wording.
If you are looking for something considered and personal, we would be glad to talk through the options with you at whatever pace suits.
