Grade 316 stainless steel is not the standard choice in memorial products, and that is exactly why it is the right one here. The alloy combines iron, chromium, nickel and carbon in a composition that offers measurably better corrosion resistance than the more common grade 304. The brushed surface catches light from different angles, giving the urn a quiet, shifting luster rather than a flat shine. If you would prefer not to fill the urn yourself, your crematorium or funeral director can do this for you. Should the urn ever need to be reopened, the maker's technicians can assist.

A portrait in steel

Laser engraving can be applied directly to the stainless steel surface, working with the grain of the brushed finish to produce an image in grayscale or in color. The process is computer-guided and precise. The sharper your source image, the finer the result. You might choose a portrait, a piece of handwritten text, a grandchild's drawing, or an image that says something true about how this person lived. When ordering, you select the engraving option and upload your image directly through the order process.

If you have an idea for something that does not yet exist, you can send a sketch, photograph or reference image. A design and accompanying quote will be prepared for your approval before any work begins.

Practical certainty when it matters

This companion funeral urn carries a ten-year guarantee. If you have any doubt after ordering, a thirty-day reflection period applies to all memorial products. The urn is made to order in the Netherlands, with a lead time of four to six weeks. For the current lead time, you are welcome to ask via chat or email.

Fragility and care

Stainless steel is resilient, but the brushed surface can pick up fine scratches if cleaned with abrasive materials. A soft cloth is all that is needed to maintain the finish. The sealable closure is engineered to hold securely, and the airtight design means there is no concern about moisture or environmental exposure, whether the urn is kept indoors or placed outside.
