Two souls, one symbol

The yin yang is one of the oldest symbols in existence, and it holds a particular truth for grief. Light and dark, presence and letting go, giving and receiving. Not opposites, but two sides that belong together. Much like you and the person you have lost.

Handcrafted by skilled silversmiths

This silver medallion is designed and made by hand by experienced silversmiths. Working in silver demands precision, especially when the piece incorporates two separate ash chambers and a secure, watertight closure. That level of craft shows in the finish and in the weight of the medallion when you hold it. The silver gives the yin yang symbol a clean, considered look that complements the simplicity of the design.

Two chambers, for one or two people

The medallion contains two separate chambers for ashes. This means you can carry a small amount of ash from two different people, or place ash in one chamber and a little soil from the grave in the other. Each chamber is sealed by its own small screw on the reverse of the piece. Please note that this memorial ashes pendant is not suitable for holding a lock of hair, as the chambers are too small for that purpose.

Worn close or displayed at home

How you keep this piece near you is entirely your choice. Worn on a chain, it stays present with you every day. Alternatively, it fits inside a purpose-made glass dome if you prefer to keep it somewhere you can see it. Neither option is more correct than the other. It comes down to what feels right for you.

Filling the pendant

A detailed filling guide is included with every order. If you would rather not fill the cremation urn yourself, your funeral director or crematorium may be able to help, though there is usually a charge for this. You are also welcome to bring or send the pendant to us: either visit us by appointment in our shop, or mail a small amount of ash by recorded delivery with your order number included. We will fill the urn for ashes and return it to you along with any remaining ashes.

Silver and moisture: what to know

Silver is a precious metal that wears well day to day, but prolonged or repeated contact with water can cause light tarnishing over time. If this happens, a gentle polish with a soft silver cloth will restore the finish. The screws provide a watertight seal for both chambers, so the contents remain protected. If you have any questions about care or maintenance, we are happy to help.

A symbol that belongs to both of you

The yin yang has carried the same idea for centuries: that nothing truly disappears, but changes form. That the bond you shared does not end, it shifts. If you are looking for something that makes that thought tangible, something you can carry with you, this pendant was made for exactly that.

Take your time browsing the pendant and its available options. If you would like to talk through how to fill it or which display option might suit you best, we are happy to help at whatever pace feels right.
