Producing a fiberglass urn is a considered, multi-stage process. It begins with a cast framework of fiberglass, resin and plaster. Two or three thick coats of lacquer mixed with plaster are then applied, and the urn is rinsed with water between each coat. Color is added next, followed by a coat of varnish, then a second. After that final coat, the surface is leveled and polished by hand. Each of those steps is deliberate, and you see the result in the finished surface.
