Care and durability

Green patina

A green patina needs only occasional cleaning with a soft cloth, water and a little mild soap. Avoid scrubbing, as the oxide layer is delicate. Over the years the green tone will settle and become more even.

Brown patina

The brown patina is sealed with a light wax coat, which halts further oxidation and prevents the bronze from gradually shifting to green. Indoors, keeping the urn dust-free is sufficient. Outdoors, the wax layer will need refreshing at least once every two years, depending on the location and weather conditions. Apply beeswax with a cloth, allow it to absorb fully, then buff to a finish.
