A shape that means something

The form is built from two opposing waves moving toward each other without meeting. That tension is deliberate. It reflects the contradictions woven into every life: joy and grief, closeness and distance, presence and absence. If you are looking for a cremation urn that speaks to who someone was rather than simply where they rest, this design carries that weight. The Wave is available as a single urn for one adult and as a larger duo model for two adults who are to be kept together.

Bronze made to last

This urn for ashes is handcrafted in the Netherlands by specialists working with sheet bronze. The flowing form is achieved through precise cutting, bending and welding. Bronze is an unforgiving material: there is no hiding a mistake and no shortcut to a clean finish. What you receive is the outcome of genuine craft, not a molded or machine-produced piece.

Patina: each urn is its own

Once formed, each urn receives a hand-applied patina, the oxide layer that gives the bronze its color and character. Because this is done entirely by hand, no two urns look identical. Two finishes are available:

• Green patina: the layer develops gradually over the years, evening in tone with time. Clean gently with a soft cloth, water and mild soap. Do not scrub, as the layer is delicate.
• Brown patina: finished with a light wax coat that slows further oxidation. Indoors, keeping it dust-free is sufficient. For outdoor placement, the wax coat should be refreshed at least every two years: apply beeswax with a cloth, leave it to absorb, then buff to finish.

Practical details worth knowing

Bronze itself needs no maintenance and will not deteriorate. The patina does require a little attention depending on the finish you choose and where the urn is placed, but the care involved is straightforward and is set out above.

Filling and sealing the urn

Everything needed to fill and seal the urn is included. The urn closes with a double-sided sealing tape rated for high tensile load, and the process itself is simple. An ash bag and cable tie are provided: place the bag into the urn, use the excess as a funnel, pour in the ashes, seal the bag with the cable tie and tuck it inside. If you prefer not to use the ash bag, a funnel is recommended to avoid spillage. Once filled, ensure the inner rim is completely free of dust, grease and moisture using the cloth provided, then press the cap firmly and evenly into place until it sits flush. The crematorium or funeral director can fill the urn on your behalf if you prefer, and if the urn ever needs to be opened again, our team can assist.

Delivery lead time

Because each urn is handmade in the Netherlands by our own specialists using quality materials, the standard lead time is four to six weeks. In practice, most orders are ready sooner, but we quote six weeks to avoid disappointment.
